Chroma Shift

Chroma Shift is a 3D first-person puzzle precision platformer with an steep level of difficulty. With an aesthetic inspired by Tron, and a gameplay inspired by Portal and Ghostrunner, the game is set on a computer simulation, where you'll use Chromatic Powers to navigate the environment and destroy the code anomalies.

The game was made in 13 days for the Acerola Game Jam 0, with the theme "Aberration".

The game is also playable with an Xbox controller, by the way (aside from mouse and keyboard, obviously).

If you want to experience the game version that competed in the game jam, download the  first version, released on March 13th, 2024.

Patch notes for version 1.1.0 (version not competing in the game jam, just making that clear):

  - Fixed an issue where some walls would not push back the player as intended when using the Magenta Powers;

  - Tuned the difficulty of the platform jumping in the level where you acquire the Magenta Shift, making it more forgiving;

  - Player movement: the player will now accelerate and decelerate more aggressively;

  - The final level was partially redesigned, as the previous version had an exploit that allowed the player to completely skip the puzzle;

  - Added sound effects to menu navigation;

  - Added a dedicated Respawn/ Retry button (R on keyboard and View Button on the Xbox controller) to improve the flow of gameplay;

  - Added a subtle sound effect to all anomalies;

  - Fixed a small bug where the player UI would unintentionally render in the game's main menu;
